Addiction is a selfish and horrible disease.

By partnering an addict in recovery ("residents') with a rescue/shelter dog in our training program, the focus turns from themselves to saving the life of their partnered dog!  A dog trainer will be teaching the residents how to train their partnered dog.  In turn the dog will have a better chance at adoption. The resident will also be able to assist in finding the perfect forever family for their partnered dog. Through training, outings together (rafting; hiking; games and more) the healing process continues for the resident and also the dog.  The time spent together will provide the dog much needed socialization and skills for adoption and the resident will be able to feel pride in their accomplishment, skills to use in a possible future working with dogs and experience the "magic healing" that comes with the unconditional love & companionship of a dog.
